Mother's Little Helper
So I have been a little behind on my Supernatural episodes, well only one. I was in Florida last week and missed the "Mother's Little Helper" episode and wasn't able to watch it until this week now that I am back in Rochester. But for those of you who didn't know, "Mother's Little Helper" was directed by our very own Misha Collins and if I may say so, he did an EXCELLENT job directing this one. I think everything about this episode helped to set up plots for future episodes as well as help us understand things better as well. Misha did a great job directing and making sure all details were perfect in this episode and it really shows!
It was hard to believe that Dean didn't want to take on a case with Sam. Dean right now is dealing with a lot. Having the responsibility with the Mark of Cain, Dean has to learn to control the new feelings and urges running through his body. He knows that if he does not learn to control these things that it can all end bad for not only himself but for everyone around him. So instead of helping Sam with a case, he stays in the bunker, drinking. Poor Dean, can't even turn to his brother for help with all this that is going on .
My favorite part of the episode though had to of been the explaining of how Abaddon came about. Now we understand how she became so close to the Man of Letters and why Henry Winchester was so eager to destroy Abaddon so badly. I think this was a nice touch to the episode and show in general because one day Abaddon randomly showed up on the show and now we know the importance of her character and why knowing about her and stopping her is an important task to complete. We should only hope that the brothers destroy her by the end of the season so they can focus on fixing heaven and destroying Metatron as well.
After watching the episode and learning more about Abaddon, I got to thinking about the brother's relationship. They are starting to get use to working alone and this worries me for the future of the show and their relationship as brothers. Sam and Dean are good on their own but together they are golden and amazing at what they do. I just hope that by the end of the season, this distance between the brothers disappear and that they can mend their relationship so they can work together again. But only time will tell and we will just have to continue to watch to find out!
Until next time my friends!
